New Designated Parking areas for vehicles at Town Landing

Hello Rowley Boaters and Launch Ramp users,                                              May 28, 2021

This letter is being sent to inform you of the fact the we have very limited parking on town property near the Town Resident Launch ramp.  This is due to a growing Rowley resident population and increased boat ownership during the Covid-19 pandemic.  I have a project underway with the Rowley Conservation Commission that will take at least another year to complete that will increase our parking capacity in a substantial manner.  In the meantime, your patience and cooperation are needed until this project is completed.  Perley's customers have been allowed to park on town property for many years.  Perley's customers are required to purchase a Rowley Waterways permit, the same as other Rowley residents that purchase launch permits and mooring permits.

My team has designated parking areas for the following users on Rowley Conservation Commission property

  1. ALL Individual vehicles park behind chained area directly across from the Town Launch Ramp.
  2. OVERFLOW for ALL Individual vehicles: Must park in the individual parking spaces designated by lines at the upper north end of the field.       INDIVIDUAL VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED AT OWNERS EXPENSE IF PARKED IN LONG SPACES DESIGNATED FOR "RESIDENT VEHICLES WITH TRAILERS"
  3. Resident Vehicles with Trailers using the Rowley Resident Only Launch Ramp – park within Chained area directly across from Launch Ramp
  4. OVERFLOW for Resident Vehicles with Trailer parking is in the UPPER Field between lines in LONG SPACES perpendicular to road and/or the woods  .    (DO NOT BLOCK OTHERS IN or YOU WILL BE TOWED AT OWNERS EXPENSE)

NO PARKING IS ALLOWED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  1. Rowley Town Wharf where Rowley Patrol and Pumpout Boats are docked.  This area is designated as an emergency preparedness area for Harbor employees and Emergency vehicle access ONLY.
  2. On the street (Warehouse Lane) along the beach where designated "NO PARKING"

STRICTLY PROHIBITED ACTIVITY:

  1. The PUBLIC, INCLUDING PERLEY'S CUSTOMERS are strictly prohibited from landing or traversing on the ROWLEY Harbor Patrol/ PUMPOUT Vessel docks.  This is a liability to the town and fines will be issued.
  2. Perley's customers (unless they are Rowley residents) ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE ROWLEY LAUNCH RAMP OR ADJACENT LAUNCH RAMP DOCKS.  THESE ARE FOR ROWLEY RESIDENTS ONLY.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  Have a safe holiday weekend and happy summer season!

Bill DiMento, Rowley Harbormaster
