Rowley Energy Reduction Plan

As part of the designation process to become a Green Community, the Town completed an Energy Reduction Plan. The Plan identifies energy reduction strategies that can be implemented within municipal buildings in order to meet a target of reducing energy consumption by 20% within 5 years of the Town's baseline year of 2018.

Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Community

In 2021, the Town of Rowley became a MVP Community certified by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The MVP program provides support for cities and towns in Massachusetts to begin the process of planning for climate change resiliency and implementing priority projects. As part of the designation process, the Town completed a vulnerability assessment and developed an action-oriented resiliency plan. Rowley partnered with the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission to facilitate this project; to provide the latest, most critical research and data that will help inform the decision-making process; and to conduct several Community Resilience Building workshops with key stakeholders and residents.
